Donna Blackstock, EAL Mesquite Campus
After working in education, vocational ministry, and healthcare management, Donna has enjoyed using her passion for communication, life-long learning, and discipleship to build a homeschool and family culture that rests in the desire to honor the Lord in every moment. She and her husband, Jarrod, met serving in ministry in their local church. He has been working in music ministry at that same church for 25 years.
Donna attended Dallas Baptist University where she studied music education and vocal performance. After teaching music for several years, Donna transitioned to working fully in children’s ministry. But through a desire to care for family and serve more freely in other ministry areas as a volunteer in music and youth, God led her to transition into the healthcare field before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Together, the Blackstock family continues to serve and share with others in hopes that they may come to know, love, and serve the Lord.
God started building an openness to homeschooling through many mentors, family members, and ministry partners years before their son would begin school. They have been homeschooling for over 3 years now and would not have it any other way. What a blessing it is to disciple the next generation through Bible based education at home and through the local community of believers.
As a director, Donna is excited to share Jill Dixon’s eclectic approach to immersive learning and perspective. Through excellent and engaging group learning, dedicated at home education, and understanding of God’s providence all throughout history, she believes EAL can be an amazing addition to each student’s home education journey.
